Climate neutral sample shipment at Feldhaus Klinker

Bad Laer, May 2022 - Feldhaus Klinker ships samples climate neutrally - and has been doing so for several years.

Feldhaus Klinker is a pioneer in the brick industry when it comes to reducing harmful greenhouse gases. Clinker brick slips and angle brick slips have already been manufactured in the company for several decades in an environmentally friendly and resource-saving manner, which has prevented large quantities of CO2.

In the area of sample shipping, unfortunately, it does not yet work without emissions. Therefore, the CO2 generated by the transport is offset by appropriate measures of the parcel service provider GLS. "It would certainly be more environmentally friendly not to send samples at all," says sales manager Jörg Breier, "but our customers want to see the unique play of colors and the feel on the original Feldhaus sample." For this reason, the samples are sent by parcel service to architects, planners, investors and end customers. It is true that many things can already be mapped digitally today and can thus be narrowed down in advance, which reduces the amount of samples. But the unique look for a purchase decision can certainly show only the sample.

Feldhaus Klinker is working hard to further reduce emissions. The aim here is not to improve the eco-balance through compensatory measures, but to achieve real savings. Against this backdrop, projects have recently been launched to move the company further in the direction of climate neutrality.
