The new auditorium with the foyer completes the redesign of the music school for young people in Hamburg, which was originally completed in 2000. The extension, which was developed ten years after the end of the project, is located in the narrow space between the old and the new part of the music school and forms a new passageway between the two parts of the building. The auditorium is elevated on the first floor, creating a large multi-purpose room on the ground floor.
The auditorium is built in an irregular round shape. The façade is covered by different colour-matching thin bricks. The ornamental decoration of the façade represents sound waves and makes the purpose of the building visible from far away.
