In the middle of Antwerp, the second largest city in Belgium, another eye-catcher is located very close to the famous Palace of Justice by Richard Rogers since 2016. The architects von Rau and Stramien designed the Catholic University "Karel de Grote". They used Feldhaus thin bricks in combination with other materials such as aluminium and wood to accentuate the façade. Seven different types of thin bricks were partly mixed. The laying technique is a particular highlight: Six types of bricks were glued vertically without joints. The type R561DF14 was processed horizontally next to the windows. The Belgian company Heylen Ceramics was in charge of the tender and the technical support. The result is unique and makes the city of Antwerp look even more beautiful!
